Cheryl Lynn Myers Brewer of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the age of 72. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Cheryl was born in 1951 to Cleo and Melba Myers in Goodland, Kansas. Cheryl graduated from Ponca City High School with the class of 1969. She married Stephen Jay Brewer of Ponca City, Oklahoma on May 22, 1972 and the couple had three children: Stephen Jay Brewer Jr., Julie Ann Brewer Smithson and Holly Suzanne Brewer Cannady. Cheryl retired from McCord Elementary School where she worked as the cafeteria manager for many years.
Cheryl was proceeded in death by her father Cleo Myers, mother Melba Myers, sister Nancy Myers Williamson, father-in-law Herbert Hoover Brewer and sister-in-law Linda Elaine Brewer Hardman.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Stephen Jay Brewer, mother-in-law Patricia Joanne Harris Brewer, son Stephen Jay Brewer Jr., daughters Julie Ann Brewer Smithson and Holly Suzanne Brewer Cannady, son-in-law Charles Edward Smithson, daughter-in-law Kim Brewer, sisters Linda Myers Rogers and Lori Myers Ysaquirre, grandchildren Brent Brewer, Brittni Brewer, Bailee Brewer, Connell Smithson, Corbin Smithson, Abigail Smithson, Ryan McConnell, and Nathan Swenson, nieces Sarah Eads, Lindsay Guier, Farrah Rogers, Kyndell Brunner, Gentry Tusler, Megan Hardman, and nephew Cody Thrash.
There will be no funeral or memorial service held at this time. The family asks that you celebrate Cheryl’s life by making a donation in her memory to the charity of your choice.
Goodbye is not forever. Goodbye is not the end. It simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again.
