Ralph Gaylin Breckenridge

June 21, 1922 ~ March 19, 2013

ENID, Okla. — Ralph Gaylin “Bus” Breckenridge was born June 21, 1922, in Pond Creek, Okla., the son of Ralph and Hildred Breckenridge.

He was actively involved in the farming operation south of Pond Creek until passing on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the age of 90, following a brief illness.

Bus was a graduate of Pond Creek High School. He attended Oklahoma State University, known then as Oklahoma A&M. He was a member of Kappa Sig Fraternity until he enlisted in the U.S. Marines, where he became a Naval Aviator, later serving in the Korean War.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Pond Creek.

Bus became a Master Mason member of the Pond Creek Masonic Lodge 125 on June 6, 1949. He served as Worshipful Master in 1956, 1982 and 1993. He was a Mason for 63 years.

He is survived by his wife, Janette; daughters, Michelle Mueller of Hawthorne, Calif., and Madelyn McGinnis of Kaw City, Okla.; son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Terri League of Pond Creek, Okla.; grandchildren, Michael League and wife Erica of Perry, Okla., Matthew League of Huntington Beach, Calif., Kendra League of Stillwater, Okla., Dane Caldwell of Pond Creek and his fiance’ Katelyn Earl of Enid, Okla., Aaron Breckenridge of Hawthorne, Calif., and Chelsea McGinnis of Tulsa, Okla.; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Marino McGinnis and Kael League.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Hildred Breckenridge, and sister, Eileen Walker.

A private service will be held at the farm on Saturday, March 30, 2013, with Pastor Ronnie Hopkins of Fairview, Okla., officiating. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love, c/o Wilson Funeral home, Box 478, Pond Creek, OK 73766.
