Geneva Emeline Rich Brannon was born September 28, 1923 in Arkansas. She moved as a toddler to Stilwell, Oklahoma where she attended elementary through high-school. She played basketball for the Stilwell Indians and graduated high school in 1942. Shortly after graduation she came to California with her sister where she got a job with Pacific Bell as an operator clerk.
She met her future husband U.Z. (Johnny) Brannon in Modesto and they were married February 22, 1945 in Reno, Nevada. After starting a family, she stopped working for Pacific Bell and started working for her husband's construction company.
She attended Bethel Church for many years, and recently started attending The House in Modesto.
She is survived by her children Vicky (Ed) Sosa, and Johnny (Cindy) Brannon. Her grandchildren: Angelo (Tanya) Sosa, Shiloh (Gail) Ybanez, Holly Sosa, Jody Sosa, Joey (Emelie) Hulse and Alli and Alex Brannon. Her great grandchildren: Noah and Peyton Ybanez, Presley, Cash, and Emerson Sosa, Ava Perez, and Hudson Castillo. Her sisters Lorene Belvins, Margie Kelley, Wanda Latta, Wilma Miller, Mageline McAnelly, Greta Patterson, and Erma Stone.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Clifton Rich, Opal Leatherwood, parents Lee and Eva Rich, and her loving husband U.Z. (Johnny) Brannon.
Visitation will be held at the Riverbank Memorial Chapel 3131 Santa Fe in Riverbank at 3:00-7:00 Monday April 11, 2016. The burial service will be held at the Oakdale Citizens Cemetery 701 East J St. in Oakdale at 10:00 am on Tuesday April 12, 2016. A reception will follow.
