Evan Lowell Brallier

March 25, 1909 ~ February 28, 2005

Evan Lowell Brallier, 95, lovingly known to all as "Grandpa", passed away Monday, February 28, 2005 at 12:32 pm in his home after a short illness. Evan was born March 25, 1909 in the Territory of Arizona. He was united in marriage to Hazel Rouse, daughter of Will Rouse and Susie McCullom, on April 10, 1936 in Curlew, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents Eva Mae Whitmer Brallier and George Henry Brallier, wife Hazel Rouse Brallier and brother Amos Brallier.

Surviving him is his son, Dale Brallier and wife Pat, of Rogersville, MO.; two daughters: Janice Duncan and husband Howard, of Evergreen, Colo., and Betty Gripe and husband Bill, of Weatherford, OK; nine grandchildren: Judy Seldomridge of Pine Hurst, N.C., Debbie Maves of Fenimore, Wisc., Steve Brallier of Rogersville, MO, Randy Schamberger of Houston, Texas, Douglas Duncan of San Antonio, Texas, Kurt Duncan of Denver, Colo., Lauree Duncan of Lawrenceville, N.J., Bobby Gripe of Tuttle, Okla., and Joyce Marshall of Edmond, Okla.; 15 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister: Kathryn Duncanson and husband Harold of Modesto, CA; a brother Virgil Brallier and wife Marie, of Osprey, FL and a sister-in-law Ruth Drown Brallier of Watertown, SD.

Evan was a farmer and welder who graduated from Mallard High School in Mallard, Iowa. He also attended Mt. Morris College in Mt. Morris, Illinois and Milwaukee School of Engineering. He retired from Sportsman Pickup Covers in 2001 at the age of 92.

Evan and Hazel were long time members of the Cherry Street Baptist Church in Springfield, MO.

We would like to thank the many friends and relatives that visited him. Also a special thanks to Community Hospices of America for their caring support and a special thanks to Joan Cherry and Chris Schwartz for their on-going care and support.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cherry Street Baptist Church for the support of their youth camping program or Community Hospices of America.

Services were held at 3:00 pm Thursday, March 3, 2005 in Preston-Marsh Funeral Home, Rogersville, with burial in White Oak Cemetery in Rogersville.
