Johnny "Short" Bradford

July 11, 1955 ~ Dec. 12, 2006

Funeral services for Johnny "Short" Bradford will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Floyd Westfall officiating.

Johnny was born July 11, 1955, in Great Bend, Kan., the son of Carl Eugene Bradford and Cordelia Marie (Cunningham) Bradford and died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006.

After Johnny was born his family moved to Oregon for a while and then back to Waynoka, OK, and then to Enid in 1972.

Johnny married Margaret Smith in March 2006.

Short enjoyed being outdoors. He would do anything from gardening, fishing, or working in the oil field. Johnny raised cows and even donkeys when he had time. The one thing that he loved the most was his grandchildren, they meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret of the home; three daughters, Candyce Bradford, Zarah Whitfield and Danielle Slayton; six sons, Christopher Bradford, Darrin Slayton, Jerod Ross, Rudy Smith-Dunn, Devon Smith-Dunn and Emmanuel Whitfield; two brothers, Jack Bradford and his wife, Roberta, and Calvin Bradford and his wife, Betty; eight grandchildren, Salestriest 'Ace' Bryant III, Emilyann Phillips, Andrea Simon, Shawn Cales, Trevor Covalt, Kaitlyn Clark, Sarah Clark and Christina Slayton; and his beloved dog, Rags.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Catherine Bradford; two brothers, Alvin and Gary Bradford; one grandchild, Dakota Longest; and two nephews, Jeffery Bradford and Ryan Kile.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Fund, diabetes division with the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home acting as custodian of the fund.
