Anita Lucille (Thomas) Bozarth

Sept. 24, 1921 ~ Aug. 14, 2006

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 17th, at 10:00 a.m., at Grace Community Church for Anita Lucille Bozarth, age 84, of Wasco, who passed away on August 14, 2006 at her residence in Wasco. Pastor Jimmy Nixon of Shafter Missionary Baptist Church will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.

Anita Bozarth was born on September 24, 1921 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, the daughter of Walter E. and Nora May Thomas. She was raised in Oak Grove and Pauls Valley, OK. She attended elementary school in Oak Grove, OK.

She married Willie O. Bozarth on June 25, 1938 in Pauls Valley, OK. She had lived in Pauls Valley, Brentwood, CA, Shafter, CA and Stanton, CA.

She had worked for J. J. Newberries in Buena Park, CA, Wasco Convalescent Hospital and Sprouse Reitz in Wasco.

She enjoyed her annual birthday trips with her daughters. She also enjoyed a trip to Alaska in 1998 to see her grandsons and great grandchildren.

Anita is survived by her sons, William Bozarth of Riverside, CA, James Bozarth and wife, Georgia of Anaheim, CA, Gerald Bozarth and wife, Mitzi of Corona, CA and Gary Bozarth and wife, Sandy of Bakersfield, CA; daughters, Jeanette Vermeulen and husband, Ray of Corona, CA, Genelda Lindsay and husband Pete of Corona, CA, Beverly Hicks and husband, Mike of Chula Vista, CA, Donna Bozarth of Wasco, CA, and Linda Ericsson and husband, Conny of Redding, CA; brothers, Paul Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK, Bill Thomas of Woodward, CA, and Bobby Thomas of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Louise Elston of Oklahoma City, OK, Margie Carrieger, Oklahoma City, OK, D. Jenevia Hartman of Moore, OK and Wanda Floyd of Oklahoma City, OK; 23 grandchildren and 35 great grandchldren.

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Willie O. Bozarth on June 19, 1984, brother, Leroy Thomas, and sister, Shirley Malin; and daughter-in-law, Alyce Bozarth.
