Floyd M. Boyles passed away on October 8, in Bakersfield. Floyd entered the World with his twin brother, Fred, in Wilson, Oklahoma, where the family spent their early years. In 1941, Floyd ventured to Washington, D. C., to work for the B. & O. Railroad and he and his wife, Clara Flusche were married there in 1942. They returned to Oklahoma for a brief time and then moved to Delano in December of 1949.
Floyd was employed as a police officer in Delano, where the family resided for 25 years and then moved to rural Wasco for 30 years where he was self-employed until he developed health problems. Floyd loved to hunt, fish and play golf with his friends. He and Clara recently moved to Bakersfield.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife of 61 years, Clara; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Nancy of Bakersfield and Charles and Dori of Aromas, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Donald Bonkosky of Bakersfield; grandchildren, John, Jr., Becky, Brian, Kim Jonathan, Joshua and Jacob; great grandchildren, Chelsea, Tyler, Chase, Zachary, Breanne and Jackson.
We wish to express our gratitude to Memorial Hospital's Critical Care Unit #1 for the professionalism and care given to Floyd and his family. At Floyd's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity in Floyd's memory.
