Larry was born August 30, 1932, to Thomas and Esther Boyle in a farmhouse in Eddy, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of five children.

He raised sheep and farmed with his dad until he graduated from Sumner High School in 1950. Afterwards, he joined the army where he volunteered to be a forward observer and made many lifelong friends. He was honorably discharged in 1955, and he started working as a pumper in the oil field.

March 21, 1953, he married the love of his life, Lucie McLaughlin. Their family started with seven children and has now blossomed into 75 people who love him dearly.

He enjoyed bowling, dancing, and playing cards with his wife. He loved working with his horses and drove his surrey with fringe on top in parades and for weddings. For several years running, he was the Kingfisher County horseshoe champion. He was an experienced harmonica player, whistled everywhere he went, and entertained us all with poems, jokes, and stories from his childhood. He retired at age 79 after working for 57 years in the oil field. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking in his shop and drinking coffee with his friends at the City Cafe round table.

He is survived by his loving family: Daughter Vicki Rother and husband Frank of Kingfisher; daughter Susan Edwards and husband Harry “Deb” of Upton, Wyoming; son Kelley Boyle and wife Gale of Bartlesville; son Thomas Boyle and wife Patricia of McAlester; daughter Mary Trivitt and husband Donnie of Oklahoma City; and, daughter Rebecca Dougherty and husband Web of Weatherford.

He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, so far! Carey and Trey Auschwitz, Max, Jack, and Claire; Carl and Julie Rother, Chloe, Carly, Jake, and Josh; Sarah and Jeff Carstens, Chase and Bryn; Andrea and Matt Palmer, Gavin, Owen, and Julia; Tammy and Cody Nebhut, Jason, and Hayden; Billy and Ashley Edwards, Allie, and Tessa; Domni Reherman, Presten, Parkyr, and Peytyn; Daniel Boyle; Megan and Jeff White, Charlee, Braylee, and Maddee; Lesly and Sean Blosser, Mak, John Henry, Deekin, and Baeron; Daphnie and Cody Mason, Remi Jo, and Wylie; Lawrence “Lee” and Jennifer Boyle and Chloe; Rachel Boyle; Katie Trivitt; Calvin and Baylee Boyle; Kelsey Trivitt; Elias Boyle and Greyson; Russell Boyle; Zoe Dougherty; Lauren Boyle; and Ela Dougherty.
