Linda Boyer of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday morning, June 16, 2017, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 71 years.
Linda Jalayne Boyer was born on August 1, 1945, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Robert Linden and Lola Carolina (Kerns) Logan. She attended Blackwell Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1963. She married Gary Wayne Boyer on July 7, 1963, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She worked at Sears from 1970 to 1986. She was a foster parent for 20 years before moving to the Baptist Children's Home in Madill, Oklahoma, in 1986 for four years. She returned to Blackwell in 1990 and worked for the City of Blackwell until retirement 2009. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening in her flower garden and making ceramics. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to their events.
She is survived by her husband Gary Boyer of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two daughters, Shari Lynn Briggs and husband Barry of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Tami Sue Gaston and husband Terry of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Philip Briggs of Rogers, Arkansas, Erin Briggs of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Josh Briggs of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Brett Gaston and wife Cassie of Minatare, Nebraska, Aaron Gaston of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and Christopher Gaston of Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Margaret Loewen and Roberta Cathey.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Matt Smith, Immanuel Baptist Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, officiating.
A memorial in her honor has been established in her honor with the Baptist Children's Home, Madill, Oklahoma, c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
