Janie Lynn Bowman, 74, of Marietta, OK, passed away Friday afternoon, January 21, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, OK. Her journey in life began in Texarkana, TX on November 2, 1947, the daughter of Myles and Emma Mardell (Bean) Bowman.
Janie grew up in Whitesboro, TX and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. She worked as a Nutritionist for Meals on Wheels and it brought her joy to deliver meals to others. In her 50’s, she decided she was going to continue her education at Cooke County College and obtained her associates degree. Janie was a devout member of Victory Chapel in Thackerville, OK. She loved to teach the Children’s Church, sing, and play the piano. Although she had many interests in life, Janie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gina Sanders and husband Royal of Marietta, Kim McClinton and husband Johnny of Callisburg, TX, Starla Tipps and husband Dale Eddows of Blackwell, OK, and Alley Vinge of Minnesota; son, Tony Wilson and wife LeaAnn of Denison, TX; brother, Myles Larry Bowman and wife Linda of Granbury, TX; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by daughter, Christian Ann Hail; grandson, Morgan Sanders; brother, Randy Bowman; and sisters, Rita Hughes and Gaye Dawson.
No services are scheduled at this time for Janie. Arrangements have been entrusted to Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Marietta.
