Thomas Noel Bowles

Thomas Noel Bowles
June 5, 1949 ~ March 20, 2023

Thomas Noel Bowles passed away on March 20, 2023 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 73. He was born on June 5, 1949, in Boyton, Oklahoma to Thomas Glen Bowles and Georgia Mae Stanbrough.

He graduated from Boynton High School in 1967, where he grew up. After high school, Noel pursued a medical degree at Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Oklahoma before he joined the United States Army. While in the Army, Noel was a Vietnamese interpreter and qualified as an expert rifleman and handguns man; also receiving a Bronze Star Metal during his service.

After returning from Vietnam, Noel studied engineering at SMU before he got a job at Texas Instruments as a Machinist. He worked for Texas Instruments for over 30 years before he retired. Noel loved taking hunting trips all over the country. He enjoyed any activity that got him outside and in nature. He could tell you the name of most birds he saw and even the genus of the plants he saw. Noel enjoyed building different types of weaponry and could tell you the different details of the rounds and their muzzle velocity as well as the many other mild boggling numbers available.

He is survived by his aunt, Lillian Swadley of Friendswood, Texas; aunt, Sally Chandler of Checotah, Oklahoma and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Glen Bowles and Georgia Mae Stanbrough; sister, Shirley Bowles and aunt, Nola Clark. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the LifePoint Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
