Our beloved sister in Christ was carried into the arms of our Lord, on the evening of September 29, 2021. Ann was born on December 7, 1944, in Tahlequah, OK the daughter of Mitchell and Lillie (Nofire) Duck.
Ann was raised in Stilwell, Oklahoma where she attended Stilwell High School. It was there that she demonstrated her physical prowess and agility upon the basketball court. She was also chosen as a Princess on the Homecoming Court her senior year. Ann was full blood Cherokee and very proud of her heritage. She possessed a natural beauty of a Native American woman, but it was often overshadowed by her inner beauty which emanated from a heart of gentleness, kindness and love.
Ann graduated from Stilwell High School and went on to pursue her college degree in Nursing. Having received her Associates Degree, she quickly learned that she had discovered her true passion-ministering to the needs of others, not merely on a physical level but on a spiritual level as well. Her nursing career carried her all across the country over the next fifty years. At one point, she retired from St. Francis in Tulsa simply to return a short time later because she missed ministering to the needs of people. Some of her interests included gardening, home renovation programs, and she had a God given gift for Interior Designing and Decorating. Ann married the love of her life Alan Bowers on June 24, 2000. Together they ministered side by side and throughout their twenty-one years of marriage, they touched the lives of so many people; while at the same time, creating precious memories for each other.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Lillie Duck and a sister Mary Katherine Vann.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her husband Alan Bowers, sister, Christine Roastingear along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Ann will be missed dearly by all of those she leaves behind-missed because of her quiet beauty and love of God that she touched so many lives with.
