Carl R. Bound was born July 12, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York to Charlotte and Merlin Bound. He passed away February 15, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 3 days.
Carl grew up in upstate New York. He later lived in California before moving to Arizona where he met Shirley Carter and they were married in Sedona on December 10, 1968. They lived in Prescott, Arizona until 1983 when they moved to Sayre, Oklahoma to make their home. Carl worked for many years at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in maintenance and also worked at the veterinary clinic with Garland Hinkle. He loved playing golf and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and his greatest dream was realized when they won the World Series. Carl was an active member of the Sayre First Christian Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was overjoyed when his great grandson was born, the first male in Carl's family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Tonya Ann Bound, 2 brothers, Robert Ike Bound.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; 3 daughters, Shelly Green, Tennessee, Shawna Atteberry and husband, Tracy, Chicago, IL, Trina Bound and husband, Terry Leslie, Elk City, OK; 4 granddaughters, Jamie, Kaylee, Jaclyn and Tonya; a great grandson, Noah; 2 sisters, Pearl Coticelli, Brooklyn, NY, and Merleen Hood, Columbia, SC; a brother, Chuck Bound, Brookville, FL; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
