Byron Leon Boshell “Bo” passed from this life October 26, 2019 in Oklahoma City. He was born July 21, 1957 in Lepanto, Arkansas to Marion and Colleen Boshell (Stroder).
Bo grew up in Northeast Arkansas. After high school he went on to earn two associates degrees from Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City, later obtaining a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma City University, and ultimately earning his Master’s degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. He worked as a patrol officer for two years at the Osceola Police Department in Arkansas. Bo moved to Oklahoma City in 1980 to pursue a career with the Oklahoma City Police Department. He met the love of his life, Carol Jean Williamson, in January of 1982. They married on July 17, 1982 and were blessed with thirty-seven years of marriage. Upon graduating from the OCPD Academy # 88, Bo proudly served for twenty-three years, retiring in 2003 as Captain. He immediately came out of retirement to join the INTEGRIS Public Safety Department as the Director, where he served for 15 years prior to retiring a second time in May of 2019.
Bo’s passion was all things Jimmy Buffet. He was also an extremely hard worker who took great pride in serving the communities he lived in. An amazing husband, father, and grandfather, Bo will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in passing by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Boshell; daughters, Brandi Clyburn and Whitney Hyche and husband, Joshua; son, Payton Boshell; brother, Marion Boshell; sisters, Linda Boshell and Robbie McDole; and grandchildren, Parker Chamberlain, Zane Clyburn, Kennedy Clyburn, Emery Hyche, and Lila Hyche. Bo is also survived by a host of other loving family and friends.
The family will hold a memorial ceremony to honor Bo’s life at 10:00am on
Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Oakcrest Church of Christ, 1111 S.W. 89th St.
Oklahoma City, OK 73139. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
