Leona Sue (Farr) Borst

Leona Sue (Farr) Borst
July 1, 1961 ~ May 13, 2021

Private Family Services will be held.

Leona Sue Borst (Susie), age 59, of Dewey, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home on May 13, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on July 1, 1961 in Buena Park, California to Lester and Minnie Farr.

Growing up she moved back and forth between California and Arizona. She met her first husband, Gary Richardson in san Diego, California and they married in September of 1979. They moved back to Oklahoma, had 2 children and were married for 7 years. She married her second husband Scott Borst in May of 1990 and resided in Dewey until her passing.

Susie worked at the Washington County Memorial Hospital and Jane Phillips Hospital before finding her calling and working at the SPCA for several years. She was a devoted animal lover. Her love for animals generated a houseful of rescued dogs and cats over the years and she gave them the best life they could possibly have. She also worked as a bartender and enjoyed doing remodel work. Susie’s hobbies included catfishing in Hulah Lake and in the Caney River. She also enjoyed “treasure hunting”, searching the river bottom for old bottles and other treasures. Later in life she took up rock collecting and enjoyed taking trips with friends to various locations to hunt for rocks.

She is survived by her husband Scott, daughter Michelle Sandberg and husband Jeremy of Bartlesville, OK, her son Kris Richardson and wife Sara of Ochelata, OK, her sisters, Lawanna Limback of Joplin, MO and Judy Bednorz of Bisbee, AZ, 3 grandchildren, 1 niece, 4 nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Samuel Yates and Ray Farr.
