Billy Lee Bond, 85, of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, June 4th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home. No additional services are planned at this time.
Billy was born on December 10, 1940, in Bethalto, Illinois, to John and Mildred (Leiner) Bond.
Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
After his military service, Billy lived in California, where he worked as a lineman for Southern California Edison. In 1972, he relocated to McAlester and began a career with Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) as a serviceman. He retired in 2003 after 31 years of dedicated service.
In the mid-1980s, Billy married Sherry Britton. They shared many happy years together until her passing in 2022.
Billy enjoyed an active life filled with bowling, camping, hunting, fishing, and later, golf. He was especially known for his green thumb and took great pride in maintaining a beautiful garden and an immaculate lawn.
Billy is survived by his children, Teri Magdalena and husband Sam, James Bond and wife Donna, and Cori Flood; grandchildren Stephanie Fassino and husband Rusty Fassino, Marcy Ayers, and Jessica Baldwin; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother Jack Bond; and sister Jerilyn Close.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Bond; his beloved wife, Sherry Bond; and his brothers, Bob Bond, Rex "Butch" Bond, and Spencer Bond.
Billy will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
