Bobby Gene Blevins of Sulphur passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at the age of 73 years, 6 months, and 20 days at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. He was born September 9, 1946 in Talihina, Oklahoma to the late Clarence Blevins and Edith (Emerson) Blevins.
Bobby lived in Mill Creek, Ok.` He attended school there and later graduated from Mill Creek High School. From there, he went on to attend Murray State College. Bobby also served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a survivor of the TET Offensive.
Bobby married the late Nova Hargrove on July 5, 1983 in Gainesville, Texas, a union that lasted 32 years until her death in 2016. He spent most of his adult life in the Murray and Johnston county area. He was a giving person and had a love for helping people.
Bobby volunteered at the Chickasaw Senior Site every month with the garage sale and also helped with the Indian taco sales. He was there every weekday to clean up after lunch. In 2018, he was crowned the Valentine's King. He was very proud to hold that title. Bobby was camp host over the Chickasaw Park and loved visiting with the patrons there. He really enjoyed cooking hotdogs over an open fire with his grandkids. He also had a love for fishing, basketball, and softball. At one time, he played softball for the Mill Creek Chiefs and also for the Chickasaw team.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his stepdad, Orvan Hubbard; wife, Nova; and brother, Cub Blevins.
Those left to forever to cherish his memory are daughters, Darla Card and husband, Bill of San Antonio, Tx; Dixie Misestri and husband, Gabriel of Kingwood, Tx; brothers, Geary Blevins of Ardmore; Sisters, Debbie Hook and husband, Gary of Mill Creek; Sis Bolin and husband, Butch of Dickson.
