Katherine Juanelle (Carroll) Blanks

June 2, 1939 ~ September 19, 2009

Katherine Juanelle Blanks, age 70, of Mangum, passed away early Saturday morning, September 19, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Blanks was born on June 2, 1939, to Wilmont Almont "Red" and Louise (Pardue) Carroll in Amarillo, Texas. From Amarillo, the family moved to Arkansas, for a short time, before returning to Amarillo where she lived most of her life. On October 29, 1954, she married Charles Ray Blanks in Amarillo. In 2001, she and Charles moved to Mangum where they made their home until her death.

Preceded in death by three sisters; four brothers; one son, Charles Ray Blanks, Jr. and one daughter, Ida Renel Hodges, she is survived by her husband, Charles, of the home; one son, Jessie Melvin Blanks of Mangum; three sisters, Peggy McGowen of Utah, Ramona Ralston of Amarillo and Nancy Ball of Ft. Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Randy Keth Hodges and Justin Ray Hodges of Amarillo, Texas; three great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

In honoring Katherine's wishes, she will be cremated with no services. Cremation services were entrusted to Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
