Sue Eldridge Blakemore was born on August 22nd, 1938, in Powell, Oklahoma. She peacefully departed this life on March 9th, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family at the age of 81.
Sue was the eldest of five children born to Annie Mae (Rushing) and Charlie Frank “CF” Eldridge. After graduating from Madill High School in 1956, she married the love of her life, William Henry Blakemore, on September 1st, 1956, in Lebanon, Oklahoma. Following their marriage, Sue and Henry moved to Texas where they would become longtime members of the Pipeline Road Church of Christ in Hurst. While raising her own family, Sue was also a caretaker for numerous other children before later entering the medical field. Moving back to Oklahoma in 1991, Sue and Henry became members at the Quail Springs Church of Christ in Oklahoma City and later the New Hope Church of Christ in Edmond.
Sue was proceeded in death by her parents and great-granddaughter Mae Virginia Giddens.
Sue is survived by husband Henry; brother Terry Eldridge and Rose; brother Jerry Eldridge and Lois; sister Linda Eldridge Crow and Sam; sister Tina Eldridge Wilson; daughter Carmel Blakemore Cotter and David; son Chris Blakemore and Elicia; grandson Jonathan Blakemore and Samantha; granddaughter Cara Blakemore Giddens and Tim; granddaughter Hailey Ginn, grandson Lance Cotter; great-grandchildren J.T. Blakemore, Cooper Henderson, Colton Henderson, Harper Blakemore and Hazel Giddens; and countless other relatives and beloved friends.
Services will be held on March 13th, 2020 at 2:00PM at The Springs Church Of Christ located at 21477 N Western Ave., Edmond, OK 73012. The family will receive visitors on March 12th, 2020 from 6PM to 8PM at Buchanan Funeral Service located at 8712 N. Council Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
