Janice D. Blight Blakeley, age 67 of Carney passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Stillwater Medical Center.
Janice was born on November 24, 1940 in Flint, Michigan to the late Thomas J. and Garnett Ash Blight.
She grew up in Flint and graduated from Flint High School in 1958.
Janice married Charles Blakeley on August 9, 1958 at the First United Methodist Church in Flint, Michigan. They began their life together in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. They enjoyed raising their four children.
She was an active Cub Scout, Girl Scout and "Cheer" Mom. She was a member of the St. Gertrude's Catholic Church. They moved to Carney, Oklahoma in 1998 to live on a farm near their children.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2003.
She enjoyed gardening and animals. Janice loved taking care of her children and grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Blakeley of Carney; Cathy Haltom and husband, William of Carney; son, Albert Blakeley of Flagstaff, Arizona; sister, Ilene Doll of Boyton Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Cori, Ashley, Charles and Edward Sweeden; Angela and Phillip Haltom; Sarah, Thomas, Eddie and Amber Blakeley and two great grandchildren, Naomi and Korbyn Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Edward Blakeley and great grandson, Daniel Ryan Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Chandler, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at the St. Gertrude's Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Ashton {Old} Cemetery, Ashton, Michigan.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
