Jim Robb Blair was born on December 1st, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he was raised. He attended Capitol Hill High School. On April 5th, 1954 Jim enlisted into the United States Air Force. He attended basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from basic training, he was transferred to Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois for his Technical School Training to become a jet engine mechanic. After graduating from Technical School, he was given his first duty assignment at Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was transferred to Ardmore Air Force Base in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was honorably discharged in January 1959 from the military.
In January 1959, Jim Blair found his true calling as a police officer and joined the Oklahoma City Police Department. His service with the police department included the patrol division, the vice unit, stolen goods unit and robbery-homicide unit. He put his life on the line every day to protect and serve the citizens of Oklahoma City for 20 years until he retired in January 1979. The desire to serve and protect continued when he joined the Moore Police Department in January 1979 as a Captain in charge of the narcotics division. He left the Moore Police Department in 1983 and joined the Cleveland County Sheriff Office in 1984. In 1986 he left the Cleveland County Sheriff Office and joined the Alcoholic Beverage Law Enforcement Agency in1987. In 1990 he was medically retired from the Alcoholic Beverage Law Enforcement Agency.
In 1994, Jim to move to the lake Texoma area. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing so he joined the choir at Texoma Southern Baptist Church
Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and telling big fish stories. He loved to bird hunt and play golf. He was an animal lover and trained bird dogs for quail hunting. He loved being with his family and playing games. Two of his favorite games were Dominoes and Mille Bournes.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother and father, Geneva B. Wells and Price M. Blair, his stepfather Pete Wells, his brother Howard B. Blair and his beloved daughter, Melody Ernst. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandra J. Blair, daughters, Robyn Blair (Patty Jo), Amanda Green (Michael), Geneva Strouse (Christopher), Son, Kevin Jones (Twana) and son-in-law Brent Ernst. He was a proud “Papa” to, Dillon (Angie), Megan (JP), Lindsay, Macy, Parker, Dalton, Garrett, Savanna (Hunter), Garran, RayLea, Levi (Maine) and his great-grandchild, Cooper, and future great-grand babies, Maximus & Aspen. 2 sisters, Elva Ferguson and Karen Fisher. There are many other friends and family members that loved him and will always cherish his memories.
