Ray Leon Blades, age 82 of Mead, OK passed away on September 12, 2024, in Durant, OK. Ray was born August 28, 1942, in Eagle Nest, NM to parents Norbert Doc Blades and Goldie Lorene (White) Blades.
Ray is preceded in death by his father Norbert Doc “Nob” Blades; mother Goldie Lorene Blades; brothers Bobby Dale “Buster” Blades and Donald Wayne “Don” Blades and daughters Tonja Ralene Denney and Terri Jenene Graves.
Ray is survived by his children Wendy Cuday of Wylie, TX and Paul Burnett of Forney, TX; grandchildren LaTasha Miller of Lampasas, TX, Patrick Denney of Irving, TX, and Jermey Denney of Ardmore, OK; 3 great grandchildren; brother Jimmy Blades and wife Linda of Desoto, TX; sisters Marie Martin and husband Paul of Ardmore, OK, Sue Bolin of Atoka, OK, Juna Russell of Milburn, OK, and Janie Davidson and husband Larry of Silo, OK; his best friend, his dog “Lucas”; lots of friends and neighbors who will surely miss him.
A special thanks to Carolyn Yarbrough for loving Ray and always being there for him for many years.
