L. R. "Ray" Bittle

ENID, Okla. - Memorial service for Ray Bittle, 82, of Enid, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Brian Meyer officiating.

L.R. was born Sept. 30, 1931, in Enid, Okla., to Roy and Darlean McCabe Bittle and died Sunday, June 29, 2014, in Enid.

He grew up in the Enid area and graduated from Kremlin High School.

Ray enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Jan. 2, 1951, and was discharged on Nov. 1, 1954.

On March 3, 1954, he married Barbara Lindberg in Long Beach, Calif. They made their home in Enid. He worked for Vater Implement and Champlin Refinery.

Following their retirement, L.R. and Barbara resided in California and Colorado. They enjoyed traveling throughout the country.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, on Jan. 1, 2006, and two brothers, Dale and George.

L.R. is survived by three children, Jim and wife Tracie Bittle, and Jerry Bittle, all of Graham, Texas, and Kathy Bittle of Enid; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bruce of California, Ronnie and wife Liz of Alva, and Dave and wife Janet of Kremlin; three sisters, Mary �Sis� and husband Bill Estill, and Glenda Babb, all of Enid, Carolyn States of Fort Worth, Texas; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love.
