Larry Leroy Bishop, 80, of Bartlesville, died Wednesday in Tulsa.

Larry Leroy Bishop was born on December 30, 1941 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Leroy William Bishop and Maggie Lea Park Bishop. Larry grew up in Chelsea, Oklahoma, graduating from Chelsea High School in 1959. Upon graduation, Larry moved to California for a short time and then moved back to Oklahoma to Bartlesville in 1960. Larry met and married the love of his life, Carole McDaniel in 1972. They were excited to celebrate their upcoming golden wedding anniversary in December of this year. Larry was welcomed with open arms into the McDaniel family, most particularly by his parents-in-law, Reverend Marvin and Fran McDaniel.

Larry worked as a pest control supervisor for Orikin Pest Control Company for over thirty-three years, and through his position with Orkin, Larry made a multitude of friends. Larry was also an active member of the Bartlesville First Church of the Nazarene and upon retirement from Orkin, took a new position at the church as the facilities manager of the Coast Family Life Center.

Larry and Carole welcomed their only child, Kristin LeeAn in 1974. Their family again expanded when Kristin married their son-in-law, Spence. Later, Larry and Carole welcomed their grandchildren, Luke, Abbie-Claire and Annaliese. Larry particularly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Carole; his daughter, Kristin Wilson (Spence) of Bartlesville, and grandchildren, Luke Wilson, Abbie Claire Wilson and Annie Wilson. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Dunlap (Rodger) of Jenks, his parents-in-law, Reverend Marvin and Fran McDaniel of Greenville, Texas, his brother-in-law, Steve McDaniel of Rowlett, Texas; nephews, Ryan Dunlap of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Chad McDaniel (Stephanie) of Rowlett, Texas; he is also survived by his niece Cara Scruggs (Justin) of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy William and Maggie Lea Bishop.

Services will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Bartlesville First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Randy Schuneman officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel.
