James Ray "Jimmy" Bishop

January 1, 1950 ~ January 27, 2013

Jimmy Bishop passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 12:20 p.m. in St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the Walker-Brown Chapel with Reverend Johnny Ray Jones officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to: St. Francis Hospice, 6600 S. Yale, Suite 350, Tulsa, OK 74136.

James Ray "Jimmy" Bishop was born January 1, 1950 in Bartlesville to Charles Kenneth and Freda Alberta (Leach) Bishop Sr. He attended Bartlesville school and graduated from Sooner High School. Jimmy worked for the Oklahoma Beverage Co. with over 20 years of dedicated service.

Jimmy is survived by two sisters; Catherine and husband Bill Green, Nancy and husband Floyd D. Duffield Sr. and one brother, Kevin Eugene Bishop. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Jimmy moved to the Grand Lake area to be among his friends and the people he considered his family: Dave Salander, Ed Kasner, Russell Banning, Benny and Jill Morrison, Kelly and Carol Clyman, Johnny McGraw, Sam Chapman, Dick Poorboy, Mike and Robin Turner, Glenn and Susie Harbison, Ed and Sherry Brookshire, Ted and Rose Bacon and many other dear friends.

A very special thank you and gratitude to Mike and Teri Fry for their dedicated friendship and time they gave to Jimmy, spending everyday with him to the end.
