Gordon Leo Bishop

July 10, 1903 ~ May 10, 1993

Portland, Oregon - Gordon Leo Bishop, 89, a longtime North Portland resident, died May 10, 1993, in a Portland hospital of complications from surgery. A funeral was held in University Park Baptist Church. Private burial was in Portland Memorial Mausoleum.

He was born July 10, 1903, in Alfalfa County to Eugene and Sarah Bishop. He attended Stella Academy. As a young man, he worked as a farm near Byron. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was an oil tank truck driver in Kansas following his discharge.

Is he married Cleda Creek on June 15, 1946, in Los Angeles, California. They lived in Dodge City, Kansas, then in Wichita, Kansas, where he worked for Beech Aircraft until her he retired in 1968. They moved to Portland in 1969. He was a member of University Park Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992, a brother and two sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Ray Shadduck, Portland, Oregon; a son, Kyron, Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren and a great grandson. Local relatives are Velma Bishop and LaWilda Bishop Reitz of Cherokee.
