Cleda (Creek) Bishop

April 16, 1916 ~ July 11, 1992

Funeral services for Cleda Creek Bishop, 76, former Alfalfa County resident, were at 1 PM Wednesday at University Park Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon, directed by Portland Memorial Mortuary.

She died July 11, 1992, in Portland. She was born April 16, 1916, in Driftwood to Grover and Gladys Creek. She was reared on a farm south of Byron and graduated from Byron High School. She attended nurses training at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. She retired after 14 years as a nurse at McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita, having worked as a nurse for 31 years.

She and Gordon Bishop were married June 15, 1946, in Los Angeles County, California. They moved to Portland in 1969. She was a member of the University Park Baptist Church in Portland.

She is survived by a son, Kyron of Wichita; a daughter, Ray Louise Shadduck, Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Local relatives are Velma Bishop, LaWilda Reitz and Ona Niles.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
