Thomas Franklyn Birdwell, 71, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life Thursday, June 7, 2018 in Shawnee.
He was born January 31, 1947 to Rufus and Bessie (Wood) Birdwell in Maud, Oklahoma.
Thomas was raised in Maud and Seminole and attended Sasakwa Public Schools.
He married Vivian Ridgeway in 1991 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Thomas worked as the maintenance man on the Roller Coaster at Frontier City and built storm cellars for McCuller Storm Shelters.
He was a proud member of the Seminole Nation Tribe. Thomas loved rattlesnake hunting and attending rattlesnake hunts including the Okeene Rattlesnake hunt. He was an excellent husband and father who always provided for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Birdwell, Jr.; and brother, Roy George Birdwell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vivian Birdwell of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Robert Sharp of Broken Arrow, OK; 2 sons and spouses, Jacob Birdwell of Edmond, OK and Jeramy and Norge Layton- Martinez of GA; granddaughter, Ariel Layton; sister, Lucille Copley of Konawa, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Memorial Service will be from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Walter Wise Hut #70, American Legion Hall in Konawa, Oklahoma.
