Wanda E (Hawkins) Bird

May 25, 1921 ~ November 4, 2005

Wanda E. (Hawkins) Bird was born May 25, 1921 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Alice E. and Claud C. Hawkins. She passed away November 4, 2005 at the Erick Nursing Center, Erick, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 9 days.

The family lived in Beckham County until 1939 when they moved north of Durham, Oklahoma. In 1945 she moved to Pampa, Texas and she was married to Carl W. Bird at Amarillo, Texas on January, 1945. They remained in Pampa, Texas later moving to California where they lived for a couple of years before returning to Pampa. After Mr. Bird passed away, Wanda moved back to Oklahoma and made her home in Sayre.

Wanda was saved and baptized in Pampa and was currently a member of the Durham Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by two brothers, J.C. Hawkins of Amarillo, Texas and Dewitt Hawkins of Durham, Oklahom, her niece and nephews, Kathy Hawkins, Kent Hawkins and Paul Oween and a host of other relatives and friends.
