Morene (Bangs) Morgan Billups, 94, a resident of Heritage Villa in Bartlesville, went to her heavenly home on her 94th birthday, July 30, 2018. The 7th of 11 children of Elmer Cecil and Ora Lee Johnson Bangs,

Morene was born in the Crossroads Community near Enloe, Delta County, Texas. Morene and her siblings grew up as a sharecropper's family in the fertile cotton fields of Northern Texas. She graduated from Enloe High School in 1942.

 She met and married Tom Morgan who was stationed at Camp Maxey north of Paris, Texas in 1943. Tom brought her to Ramona, Oklahoma where they raised 5 kids on the farm south of town. Morene loved kids and is known in the area for her child-care and baby-sitting.

Morene married Freddie Billups in 1979 after Tom's death. Freddie was Tom's double cousin. Morene and Freddie moved to Skiatook and Morene continued living there after Freddie's death in 1993. Due to failing physical abilities, Morene moved into Heritage Villa Care Center in 2016.

Morene is survived by 4 children, Tommy and wife Nellie of rural Ramona, Betty Ennen and husband Don of Skiatook, JP and wife Nell of Nowata, and Sally Tate and husband Bob of Owasso. She is the proud grand-mother of Johnny Joe Morgan and wife Sheila of rural Ramona, Keri Dawn Gardner and husband Brian of rural Bartlesville, Jody Ennen and wife Debbie of Prosper, Tx, Angela Ennen of Irving, TX, Michael Morgan and wife Lynn of rural Nowata, Sarah Hicks and husband Brandon of Nowata, Jason and Barbie Morgan of rural Ramona, Crystal Larson and husband Brandon of Sapulpa, Ok, Robert Tate and wife Tracy of Wiggins, CO, and Dennis Tate and wife Jana of rural Ramona; 25 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Morene is preceded in death by husbands Tom Morgan and Freddie Billups, brothers Clarence, Elvin and Wendell Bangs, sisters Ruby Castleberry, Ruth McBride, Estelle Ransom, Mozelle Thomas, Doris Lyons, Betty Fowler, Joy Holmes and son Ross.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Villa for Morene's care during the past few years and Comforting Hands Hospice for their care in the final days.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday, August 4, 2018,at the First Baptist Church of Ramona.

Services are under the direction of Sien-Shelton Funeral Home, Skiatook.
