Dr. Donald Roy Biles

Dr. Donald Roy Biles
January 20, 1934 ~ April 12, 2020 (age 86)

Dr. Donald Roy Biles passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020. Don grew up on a ranch near Madill, OK and was a cattleman all his life. He attended college at OSU, receiving a degree in Animal Husbandry. He then entered the U.S. Air Force and served with the Strategic Air Command as a B47 Pilot. Following his military service, Don returned to OSU obtaining a degree in Veterinary Medicine, paying his way thru school by flying the RF84 in the Air Guard and crop dusting in the summer.

After graduation, Don opened and established his Veterinary practice at Westwood Veterinary Hospital in Norman. He purchased his headquarters ranch in 1971, and later developed his Beefmaster operation.

He served as a board member, Vice-President and President of Central States BBU, Vice President and President of Beefmaster Breeders United from 1992-1996.

The two awards that Don was most proud of were the Norman Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Man of the Year in 1992, and his induction into the BBU Hall of Fame in 2010.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Biles; son, David Biles and his wife Janie Biles; grandchildren, Jackson and his wife Kendall, Jameson and Trinity Biles; daughter, Heather Artman and her husband Darin Artman; and grandchildren, Jordan and Zachary Artman.

Don was preceded in death by his oldest son, Kenneth.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, may be made to Purcell FFA, 2020 W. Green Ave, Purcell, OK 73080.
