Karen Kay Bilbo, a cherished sister, aunt, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on June 22, 1954, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Bryce Holmes and Julia Belle (Powell) Cochran. Karen's warmth and compassion touched the lives of all who knew her.
Karen's journey in healthcare began when she received her B.S.R.N. from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, on May 10, 1996. Her commitment to caring for others was evident throughout her career as she worked with unwavering dedication in various Oklahoma City hospitals. She was admired her for her professionalism and her patients appreciated her for the comfort she provided during their times of need. Beyond her professional life, Karen had a passion for sewing, cooking, and baking. Her love for these hobbies was only surpassed by the love she had for her profession.
She is survived by her sisters, Peggy Parr and husband Curtis, and Gaylene Cochran Shuler and husband Joe, as well as her nieces, Julie Cox and Katie Welch. Preceding her in death are her parents Bryce and Julia Cochran.
Cremation has been selected and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
