Sheldon Floyd Biggs

Sheldon Floyd Biggs
February 20, 1942 ~ September 19, 2020

Sheldon Floyd Biggs was born February 20, 1942 to Floyd and Lorene Biggs in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He departed this life September 19, 2020 at the age of 78 years 6 months and 30 days.

Sheldon grew up in and around the area of Moore, Oklahoma. He attended Robison School, which at the time, was a small country school. He began working at a young age, as did many in his generation. Sheldon was united in marriage to his first wife, Dorothy Lorene Freeman on July 10, 1961. They had four children, Rusty, Shelley, Marvin, and Gabe. Their family lost their precious wife and mother in a tragic airplane accident on July 21, 1971. Sheldon Biggs and Jo Ann Parker were married June 23, 1972. Upon their marriage, Jo Ann’s two children, Darin and Dionna, joined his family. In 1976 he brought his family from Wellston to the Depew area which would remain their forever home. Sheldon loved the pioneer way of life; building a cabin, and farming with mules was his great passion second only to God and family. He served the Lord faithfully as a member of Faith Baptist Church in Slick, Oklahoma.

Sheldon was a jack-of-all trades; he was a pilot, a machinist, a commercial fisherman in Alaska, a truck driver, a stockcar racer, but most of all a farmer and rancher. His love for farming with mules like his grandfather resulted in buying several different teams, with Coley and Liza being his favorite team of mules. Sheldon was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who lived life as a GREAT adventure.

Sheldon is survived by his wife Jo Ann of the home; his children, Russell Biggs and wife Marie of Delaware, Oklahoma, Shelley Plum and husband Johnny of Bristow, Marvin Biggs and wife Wyonna of Sapulpa, Darin Biggs of Cache, Oklahoma, and Dionna Marker and husband Nelson of Depew; one brother, Glen Biggs and wife Carol of Wellston; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Biggs and Lorene Biggs White; wife, Dorothy Lorene Freeman Biggs, brother, Ronald Dean Biggs; son Acy Gabe Biggs and grandson Brent Charles Plum.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Faith Baptist Church near Slick, Oklahoma.
