Alma Lutitia (Horton) Biggs

Alma Lutitia Biggs, 74, passed on May 25, 2023, in Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Alma was born March 25, 1949, in Hominy, Oklahoma to Delbert and Alma Horton. Alma was the second born in a sibling group of twelve. She had six sisters and five brothers. Alma graduated from Prue High School. She then went on and furthered her education at Northeastern State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education.

Alma started her career in Prue Oklahoma where she taught Elementary age children for over twenty years.

Alma met a young man from Bixby, Charles Willard Biggs. They fell in love and married on September 3, 1969, in Bixby. Alma and Charles had two sons, Stephen Charles Biggs, and Jerry Allan Biggs.

Alma loved to travel but she was always ready to get back to Prue. She loved to cook for her family and bless other people. Alma loved being with her siblings, especially the sisters. Going to Keystone Lake was always a highlight for Alma. Her favorite thing was to be with her boys and her grandchildren, what a great pleasure it was to have them around. She will be greatly missed.

Alma Biggs is survived by her sons Stephen (Karen) Biggs and Jerry Biggs; five grandchildren Nicholas, Andrew, Illiana, Zetta Jean, Nova; one great grandchild Kashius; four brothers Johnny Horton, Marty Horton, Larry Horton, and Isaac Horton; five sisters Zetta Horton, Sandra Smith, Brenda Owens, Karen Horton, and Rita Burgess; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Biggs; her parents Delbert and Alma Horton; a sister Beverly Paddock; and a brother Wayne Horton.

Arrangements have been provided by Powell Funeral Service in Hominy, Oklahoma
