Woodward – The funeral for Roy Andrew Biffle, 72, will be 2 PM Tuesday in the Garden Chapel of Good Samaritan Funeral Service. The Rev. Jason Dirks will officiate. Cremation will follow.
He was born June 8, 1929, in Comanche to Roy Charles and Ruby Marie Youngblood Biffle and died Friday, February 8, 2002, at the Veterans Center in Clinton.
He graduated from Comanche high school in 1947, then enlisted into the Navy. He served 22 years and attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He served during the Korean and Vietnam wars and had numerous awards and medals including the Purple Heart. He worked at the United States post office in San Diego for eight years and at Lawton for one year. In 1962 he married Aldora Leona Dempster at Las Vegas. They lived in National City, California, until moving to Woodward in 1980. He was employed by CRC Wireline Service and was a member of Woodward VFW Post No. 1375, serving as post commander. He also belonged to the Fleet Reserve and Woodward Moose Lodge No. 452.
Surviving are his wife, Aldora of Woodward; three daughters, Darla Hurley of Woodward, Debbie McCanless of Fortuna, California, and Kathy Andrea of Woodward; four sons, Eugene Biffle of Fairview, Terry Dempster of San Diego, Ricky Dempster of Harrisburg, North Carolina, and Lyle Dempster of Sanford, Texas; one sister, Dovie Huekahea of Duncan; five brothers, Robert, Lee and Jerry, all of Duncan, Price of Fort Worth, Texas, and Charles of Woodward; numerous grandchildren and great – grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter and one son.
