Rick was born on July 10, 1955 at Lindsay, Oklahoma to Richard and Barbara (Slaght) Bierig. He passed from this life on Friday, June 20, 2025 at his home in rural Major County.
On July 2, 2005 he married Cindy Jo Bierig. Rick and Cindy have three children, KD Keim, John Bierig and Ian Lamberson.
If you know Rick you know that he loved to terrorize anyone he met. Rick always said that was his favorite pastime.
Rick worked in the oil field for 27 years and then he worked for W. B. Johnston Grain Company until he went on disability in 2011.
Rick is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Cindy Jo Bierig, daughter KD Keim (Nick), sons John Bierig & Ian Lamberson, grandchildren Guinevere and Mason Keim, mother Barbara Bierig, brothers Dennis (Darla) Bierig, Tommy (Mitzie) Bierig, and sister Dixene (Rick) Howerton, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Richard “Dick” Bierig.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kindness during this time. They would also like to thank Dr. Nabi and her fabulous staff for the care Rick received over the years, Alera Caring Hospice team, and a very special thank you to Stephanie, Savannah, and Eliah LaFountain, Breyden, Isiah, and Breyah Bearshield for all of the help and devotion to “Uncle Rick”.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 27, 2025 at the Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Shawn Classen and Pastor Levi Bratten officiating. Arrangements are with Pierce Funeral Home, Fairview, OK. Memorials may be made to the Orion Fire Dept. or the Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O.
