Thank You For Your Service!

Larry Eugene Berry

Larry Eugene Berry
August 23, 1956 ~ August 30, 2022 (age 66)

Larry Eugene Berry, born on August 23, 1956 in San Pedro, California, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2022 surrounded by family. As a young man, Larry relocated to Wewoka, Oklahoma with his grandmother Bertha Brinsfield. There, he met his first wife Sheryl, and of this union, three children were born. Larry proudly served in the United States Army National Guard in Holdenville, Oklahoma. During his service, he got the chance to travel and spend a short period in Germany. Larry worked at a metal fab shop before beginning a long successful career in the oil and gas industry.

On December 31st, 2004, Larry married his current wife Sue of Carney. They lived in Carney for a short period before moving to their dream home near Chandler. Larry and Sue enjoyed many hours together in the yard grooming and decorating for each season of the year, raising his leash trained cat Goofy, feeding his fish, his pet crows, Grey Beard and Whiskers, along with other various wildlife.

Larry retired after a successful 40-year career, with the last 22 spent at Special Energy Corporation. He had many hobbies and interest that always kept him busy either in his shop, on the farm, at music night, and the endless honey-do-list from Sue or always helping others. He enjoyed traveling and taking grandkids to Lake Tenkiller, watching stars on the patio and taking pictures. One of his favorite trips was to Memphis, where he visited the Gibson Guitar Factory and custom ordered his treasured J45. His latest project was a pump jack that he restored and is on display in the yard.

Larry is survived by wife Sue of the home, aunt Rev. Dr. BJ (Chuck) Phillips of Chapin, South Carolina, sister Cheryl Caruso of Seminole, OK, children Justin Berry of McPherson, KS, Bud Berry of Alva, OK, Jessica Berry of Moundridge, KS, Misty (Curt) Bellinger of Wetumka, OK, 12 grandchildren, many other family members, numerous friends and colleagues.

Larry was preceded in death by his grandmother Bertha Brinsfield, parents William and Betty, siblings Thomas, Paul, Jerry and Billie, daughter Amy Sanders and grandson Reilly.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Carney Assembly of God. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
