Brock Cameron Benson

Brock Cameron Benson
April 15, 1960 ~ July 24, 2022

Brock Benson, 62 year old Fargo resident passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022 in the First Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Brock Cameron Benson was welcomed into this world on April 15, 1960 in Woodward, OK by his parents, Dr. Ben and Nita Benson, and big brother, Brad. Brock was a lifelong resident of NW OK, residing in Woodward, Gage, and Fargo. Brock was a member of the Woodward First Christian Church as a youth, and the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church as an adult. Brock graduated from Woodward High School in 1978 and attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater to pursue a career as an Ag teacher. One month shy of obtaining his degree he contracted an illness that he was not expected to survive. After a miraculous and long recovery, Brock felt led to change his path and began his nearly 30 year career in law enforcement. He started with the Woodward PD, and went on to also work for the Ellis County Sheriff's Office, and Woodward County Sheriff's Office. Brock was also honored to receive a special deputization with the United States Marshals Service. Brock made countless friends in the LEO community, and he enjoyed being a mentor and teacher to new LEO members. Brock was passionate about his job, but his greatest love was his wife, Khristina, and the family they created. Brock married "his redhead" in May 2001, adopted her 3 children, Whitney Nicole, Alyssa Renae, and Levi Scott in March 2003, and in July 2003 their daughter, Jordan Bailey, was born. Brock was a loving and faithful husband and father, and enjoyed the blessing of being "Papa" to Elizabeth, Abel, Charis, Ella, Eli, Liam, and Nova. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every second he spent with them.

Brock had an insatiable hunger for knowledge and never stopped learning about everything that interested him - particularly, agriculture, forensics, psychology, criminology, criminal justice, political science, and history. Brock loved sharing his vast knowledge with his children and considered himself their "teacher of life".

Brock loved cooking, and one of his favorite past-times was preparing dishes with his children and grandchildren by his side Brock didn't always allow his wife in the kitchen with him, but they did share a love of books, fast and classic cars, firearms, the Old West, dobermans, and music - which Brock filled their home with day and night Brock and Khristina were both country, farm kids, and it was his dream to buy Highland cattle for Khristina and run a small farm with her.

Brock was notoriously ornery and funny. He loved to laugh, and to make others laugh, and there are hundreds of "Brock stories" that will live on through his family and friends.

Brock joined his grandparents, father, and 2 grandsons, Dylan and Zion, on the streets of gold on July 24, 2022.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Northwest Domestic Crisis Center with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
