Richard O. “Dick” Bennett, 85, passed away on his birthday, July 25, 2022.
He was born in Sterling on July 25, 1937, to the late Eual Bennett and Hazel Ross.
Dick was united in marriage to Judy Ann Long on April 6, 1958. He served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1959.
Dick also worked for Chicago Lumber Company for over 17 years.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his infant son, Robert Paul and his wife, Judy Ann Bennett on July4, 2022.
Survivors include his daughter Teresa Graser, sons Terry (Gwen), Alvin and Kevin Bennett and honorary daughter Rhonda Silva, all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and brother, Gail Bennett.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs.
Dick will be laid to rest with his wife, Judy, in Ridgewood Cemetery.
