Dennis Joe Bennett

March 18, 1950 ~ June 11, 2013

Dennis Joe Bennett, son of S.K. and Inez (Ward) Bennett, was born on March 18, 1950 in Dallas, Texas and departed this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 21 days.

He was an avid OU football fan, loved to play golf and loved old cars. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially loved his grandchildren. He married Valeria Ogden Sanders on October 2, 1982 and they spent the next 30 years side by side.

Preceding him in death were his parents: S.K. and Inez Bennett, sister: Wanda Bennett Blackmon, nephew: Robert Blackmon and great niece: Jordan DeLon.

He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife: Valeria (Ogden) Bennett of the home in Stilwell, OK, his children: Monica Lawrence of Sugarland, TX, Mike Sanders and wife Susan of Westville, OK, Mark Sanders and wife Jennifer of Stilwell, 11 grandchildren: Tony, Andrew and Morgan Lawrence of Sugarland, TX, Ashley, Brent and Tyler Sanders, Brianna and Taylor Wilson, all of Westville, Brittany, Bryce and Cooper Sanders of Stilwell, special niece: Lisa DeLon of Arlington, TX, special friend: Sandy Utley of Duncanville, TX. Dennis is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Private family memorial services were held at 1 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2013.

In lieu of flowers and In memory of Dennis, please make donations to St. Jude's, Shriner's Hospital or any other Charitable Organization of your choice.
