William Douglas "Doug" Benard passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, surrounded by love and family. Born on March 4, 1964, Doug lived a life marked by loyalty, laughter, and deep devotion to those he held dear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Flo Benard; sisters Pam Wilmuth and Gayle Woods; and his beloved son, Cameron Benard. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Doug is survived by a large and loving family: siblings Rusty Benard, Debbie Gorman, Byron Benard, Patricia Walls, Todd Benard, George Benard, Rolynda Gibson-Bailey, and Christine Turner; children Zach Benard and wife Eden, Tristan Benard and fiancé Jordan, Greyson Benard, Kaden Benard and fiancé Betty, and daughter Lilly Primrose Benard; grandchildren Liam Benard, Ryker Benard, Addison Benard, Keagan Benard, and Ace LaForce; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry forward his legacy of warmth and humor.
Doug's days were brightened by the constant companionship of Rose, his spirited Jack Russell terrier, who rarely left his side. Whether out on the lake casting a line, enjoying target practice with the boys, or simply gathered around the table swapping stories, Doug found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His greatest happiness came from spending time with family - sharing meals, laughter, and unconditional love.
He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his quick wit, and the way he made everyone feel like they belonged. Doug's presence was a steady comfort, and his absence leaves a space that can only be filled with cherished memories and enduring love.
A ceremony to celebrate Doug's life will be held at 2 p.m, Friday, November 21, 2025, at Life.Church Shawnee, 5113 N. Harrison Ave., Shawnee, Okla., with Pastor Trevor Williams officiating.
