Randal W. Beene of Quincy, Illinois passed away suddenly Saturday, September 10, 2022 during a charity bicycle ride benefitting a local food pantry.
Randy was born on May 3, 1965 in Camp Verde, Arizona to the late Jonas Junior Beene and Marianne Volz.
Following his graduation from Noble High School, Randy pursued his life-long dream of becoming a pilot. He graduated with honors from flight school and served in the Army National Guard in Oklahoma as a helicopter pilot. Randy furthered his education at the University of Oklahoma, becoming a first-generation college graduate with a degree in electrical engineering. Following his graduation he worked as an aerospace engineer for Honeywell in Arizona. During the final year of Randy’s life, he found purpose and friendship volunteering for Horizon’s Soup Kitchen and Pantry in Quincy, Illinois.
Randy faced many challenges throughout his life but will be remembered by his friends and family for his sense of humor and intelligence.
He is survived by his mother Marianne; two sons, Michael and Jeffrey; sisters, Deborah, Tanya, and Melissa; and brothers, Jason and Justin.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
