Douglas Clayton Beech
Sept. 15, 1942 ~ Sept. 4, 2015

Funeral for Douglas Clayton Beech, 72-year-old Enid resident will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Wade Burleson will officiate. Arrangements are under direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. He will be cremated after the funeral, per his request.

Doug was born Sept. 15, 1942, in Mobile, Ala., to Herman and Anna Lois (Grimes) Beech and passed away suddenly in his home in Enid on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015.

He moved to Enid, where he graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1960. He enjoyed playing basketball while at Enid High.

He worked at Zales Jewelry for 38 years.

On April 25, 2003, he married Bertha Oswald in Enid, where the couple made their home.

He was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool (and winning); he and Bertha also enjoyed going to the casino.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha, of the home; two daughters, Shelly C Beech of Bartlesville, Okla., Glenda Dianne Chavez of Tulsa; two sons, Christopher Beech and Matthew Beech, both of Tulsa; stepchildren, Gloria Blevins and husband Pat, of Enid, Carol Lewis and husband John, of Enid, and Rickie Klein, Linda Bitner, and Teresa Oswald, all of Cresent; six grandchildren, Steven Chavez, Hayden Wehmeyer, Payton Beech, Logan Brandt, Kyler Beech, and Savannah Beech; 12 stepgrandchildren; one brother, Danny Beech; and four sisters, Nettie Phillips, Bettie Richmond, Bobbie Davis, and Kathy Basden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, his grandmother Mamie Grimes, and his uncle W.J. Grimes.
