Nelda Jo (Cunningham) Beebe
September 17, 1932 ~ September 13, 2020

Family memorial services for Nelda Jo Beebe, 87, of Enid, will be in Colorado at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Nelda Jo was born Sept. 17, 1932, at Fairview, Okla., to Lemuel "Joe" and Nellie Davison Cunningham, and passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, in Enid.

She married Vernon Beebe on Sept. 16, 1951, in the Kingfisher United Methodist Church.

She was a strong woman, women's editor and newspaper writer, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and builder/supporter of other strong women.

She was a lifelong learner that could filet the NY Times crossword in record time. She loved her family and Colorado. She was a member of the Altrusa Club of Enid, Gamma Study Club, First United Methodist Church and Methodist Women, Keenagers, Briggs Evening Lions Club and the Red Hat Club.

Nelda Jo was preceded in death by her parents, son Bryan Beebe, and husband Vernon.

She is survived by her children; daughter LeNelle Backus, husband Lee Backus, of Enid, Okla.; son Brent Beebe and wife, Linda Beebe, of Santa Fe, N.M.; grandchildren Lindsay and Kyle Green, of Temple, Texas; Matt and Stacey Beebe, of Bozeman, Mont.; Kay Lynn Backus, Enid, Okla.; Karrie and Vince Querry, Fairview, Okla.; Sarah and Michael Madden, Piedmont, Okla.; and Michelle Backus Enid, Okla.; great-grandchildren Emma Beebe, Matalynn Beebe, Cooper Green, Caleb Green and Mason Green.

She is also survived by one sister, Jeanne Kadavy, and her husband, Malvin Kadavy, Kingfisher, Okla.
