George Kenneth "Pappy" Beavers

George Kenneth Beavers
December 19, 1931 ~ May 28, 2020

George Kenneth Beavers "Pappy" of Del City passed away on May 28, 2020. He was born December 19, 1931 to George and Jessie Lee Beavers in Randlett, OK. He served in the Army 45th Infantry and was a Korean Veteran, where he was awarded the Army Occupation Medal in Japan, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.

He is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Scott; parents, George and Jessie Lee; and sister, Sharon Beavers.

Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Beavers of 55 years; daughter Kendra and husband Russell Vaughan of El Reno, OK; 2 granddaughters and 2 great-grandsons, Kayleigh and husband Jacob Schuchardt and Rhyatt of El Reno, OK and Kodi and husband Taylor Rackley and Callan of OKC, OK; sister Verba Lee and husband Donald Stubblefield of OKC, OK; aunt Johnnie Beavers of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

George retired from Tinker Air Force Base civil service in 1989.

He was an avid Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys football fan. He enjoyed traveling, but his most favorite thing was Skeet Shooting. He started the sport in 1966, and made numerous friends and memories throughout his career. He won several awards and trophies. He was inducted into the OSSA Hall of Fame in 1986. He never knew a stranger and was liked and loved by everyone. We will all miss his smile, big heart and orneriness.

There will be a casual outdoor Memorial Service held at 11:00am Saturday, June 13th, 2020 at the Residence of Ron and Marcia Vaughan, 12000 Castle Creek Circle, OKC, OK 73165.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lupus Foundation of America, 2121 K Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037.
