Carolyn Sue Beavers entered this world on February 17, 1943 and passed on December 9, 2009 with her family by her side in Santa Monica, CA.
All friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary (2739 Panama Ln).
Carolyn was born in Eufaula, OK to Martin and Sue Newton. She was the oldest of five children. She grew up and lived in the Arvin/Lamont area. Carol attended DiGorgio School and graduated from Arvin High School in 1961.
While attending a friend's party, she met her husband Wayne Beavers and they were married on February 9, 1962. In 1969, she was overjoyed to become a mother to her daughter Jennifer. She was blessed again in October 1986 when she became a grandmother for the first time. Carolyn had a generous nature and a love for her family, especially for her grandchildren and her nephew, Chad Franks. She took pride in her family and enjoyed updating everyone about her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed her roses in her yard and the many pets she cared for over the years.
Carolyn leaves behind to carry on her memory her husband, Wayne; daughter, Jennifer Beavers-Barrera; grandchildren, Justin Beavers, Dallas and Tyler Barrera, Jacob and Esmeralda Gonzalez; mother, Sue Newton; sister, Kay Menis; sister, Paulette Juhl and husband Ray; brother ,Clinton Newton and wife Vickie; brother, Ron (Hog) Newton and wife Barbara; brother- in-law, Eric Beavers and wife Connie; sister-in-law, Mary Hight and husband Cliff; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Newton.
The family would like to thank Memorial Hospital, UCLA (Westwood and Santa Monica), Bakersfield's Davita Dialysis, the staff at Arvin Union School District and the many friends and family who helped Wayne and Jennifer these last few months. Carolyn supported many organizations and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family who will continue her tradition of giving. The family asks that in the memory of Carolyn those that attend the services wear an article of clothing that bears her favorite color-purple.
