Richard "Dick" Beaver, Sr.
June 28, 1935 ~ October 26, 2016

Richard Beaver, Sr. the son of Howard and Lora Belle (Boone) Beaver was born June 28, 1935 in Estherville, Iowa passed away October 26, 2016. 

Richard served in the United States Navy from July 17, 1952 to June 20, 1960 as a 2nd class boiler tender. In his 9 years of service he served on the H.W. Tucker Destroyer 875, A.J. Isbell Destroyer DD269, Floyd's Bay AVP 40 and the Richard S. Edwards Destroyer DD950.

On July 23, 1958 he was united in marriage to Barbara Zitterich. Barbara preceded him in death in January of 2000. Richard moved to Guthrie from Oklahoma City in 1990. He enjoyed having breakfast with other Veterans, who were his friends.

Left to cherish Richard's (Dick) memory are his children Richard, Jr and Lorrie of Estherville, IA, Sheri of Estherville, IA, Howard and Sandra of Oklahoma City, OK, Kris and Dan Schroeder of Milford, IA, Tina Beaver and Isiah Hill, Jr, of Oklahoma City, OK and Brenda of Edmond, OK. Also grandchildren Christopher Beaver, Amanda Hallett, Ben Nelson, Michael Nelson, Julian Schwab, Nicolas Schwab, Kristin Duggins, Kathy Barber, Kim Waterman, Byron Beaver, Patricia Beaver, Bryan Beaver, Samantha Miller and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Willard (Bill) and Marilyn Beaver of Spirit Lake IA, Jack Beaver of Estherville, IA and many nieces and nephews. He has been preceded in death by his parents, wife and grandson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Wendy Harland officiating.

Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
