Memorial service for Allan D. "Butch" Beatty, 75, Hennessey, was at 2 p.m. Wed., May 25, 2016 at First Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Gordon officiated. Cremation arrangements were by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Butch was born Aug. 1, 1940 in Comanche to Barney and Mae Berry Beatty. He died Mon., May 16, 2016 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Viet Nam era. Butch married Brenda Morris July 4, 1965 in Comanche. The couple lived in Comanche, Duncan and Geary prior to moving to Hennessey in 1985. Butch was a Deacon at First Baptist Church, Hennessey, former Trustee of First Baptist Church in Geary, served on the Comanche Volunteer Fire Department, was a past member of Duncan Lions Club and served on the Geary School Board.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Jean Cornelius and one brother, A.B. Beatty.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda of the home; one son, Karl Beatty and wife Denise of Cashion; one daughter, Dana Beatty of Hennessey; three grandchildren, Lauren Schwarz, Jacob Benedict, Brandon Dewberry and three great-grandchildren, Brayden and Jaxson Benedict and Hunter Schwarz.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Baptist Boys Ranch Town with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
