Steven Paul Baumann

Steven Paul Baumann
April 24, 1952 ~ December 4, 2023

Steven Baumann of Purcell, passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 71. Steven Paul Baumann was born on April 24, 1952, in Oklahoma City to Fred Baumann and Georgia Pearline Baumann (Garrett). He grew up in Tuttle, attended school there, and graduated with the Tiger Class of 1970. Right after school, he married the love of his life, Sarah Ellen Jones, on June 13, 1970 in Moore, OK. Steven joined the Oklahoma Air National Guard and proudly served for six years while he and Sarah started their family. They lived in Moore and Tuttle before finally settling in Purcell.

For over 35 years, Steven was a forklift operator for Pratt Industries. After his retirement, he enjoyed getting coffee and catching up with his old work friends, Kathy Everett and Mack James. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop, working on various projects, and gave his best effort to being a lawn mower mechanic, though he never had much success. Steven was a skilled woodworker and made detailed pieces for his wife to paint. He enjoyed fishing, horses, and could often be found wandering the aisles of Wal-Mart. Steven never missed an OU game and was a true Sooner fan. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, Isabella, who affectionately named him “Honey,” and his Scottish Terrier, Jack.

Steven was a beloved husband, father, friend, and Honey who will be dearly missed.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Baumann and Pearline Rinker. His siblings Eddie Baumann, John Baumann, Bill Baumann, Bob Baumann, Joyce O’Daniel, and Dorothy Dobbs.

He is survived by his wife Sarah Baumann of the home, his daughters Stacy Baumann, Shilah Baumann, and Shawnda Baumann, all of Purcell. His beloved granddaughter, Isabella Cruz, of Purcell. His siblings Melvin Baumann of Tuttle, OK, Lonnie Baumann of Sand Springs, OK, Carol Sexton of Tuttle, and Connie Banker of Blanchard.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at Little’s Chapel, Wilson-Little Purcell.
