Shirley Ray "Puddy" Battles passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at her home in Perry. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel.
Shirley was born July 16, 1959 in Perry, Oklahoma, to Ralph and Joann (Crews) Nida. She grew up in the Perry area and attended Perry Public Schools. She remained in Perry until her passing. She loved the people of Perry and will be greatly missed. Shirley and Mark were married July 28, 1990 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. They shared 28 wonderful years together.
Some of her hobbies included fishing, cooking, traveling, and frequenting garage sales looking for treasures. One of her greatest enjoyments was taking her grandbabies to Branson, MO, to make memories that will last a lifetime.
Survivors include her husband Mark of the home; three children, Josh Thompson and wife Tami of Cyril, OK, and Carrie Chitwood and Kylar Chitwood both of Perry, OK; two sisters, Cheryl Jeter of Perry, OK, and Ethel England and husband Stan of Montrose, CO; three brothers, Ralph Nida, Jr. and wife Cathy, and Hank Nida all of Perry, OK, and Willy Nida of Woodward, OK; four grandchildren, Amethyst Stuck, Levi Thompson, Kalie Thompson, and Kadin Thompson; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nancy Smith; and
one brother, Kenny Bob Nida.
